Jet

Jet

Rediscovering Jet Fighters as a subject for my work not only gave me a context to conjoin the geometric with the organic ; but also combined soaring, graceful beauty with the most lethal of contexts.

As a boy, planes were one of my favorite subjects to draw …the more swept wing the better. With maturity, came more “serious” subjects…it is what is expected. The transition from crayon… to pencil… to Rapidograph had its casualties. How was I to know at age 9; that what excited the Kool-Aid Kid would become a perfect professional subject? As I go forward, I find myself returning… to whence I came. The coming of age is accompanied by the realization that life is a circle route.
